Graduation Requirements
Graduation is a time of celebration, and Tanya’s Beauty School is happy to issue diplomas and transcripts to students who have successfully satisfied the following criteria:
- Completed and passed all written and practical exams with a grade average of 75% or higher
- Achieved Satisfactory Academic Progress status, with an over-all grade average of at least 75% and an attendance rate of at least 75%
- Completed all state-required training hours
- Met all financial obligations to the school
Students receive their diplomas upon completion of their hour and service requirements. An official transcript will be issued and faxed to the Oregon Health Licensing Agency’s Board of Cosmetology within three days of the student’s completed exit interview and authorization.
Oregon applicants for licensure must first complete and pass courses required by the Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission’s Private Career Schools Licensing Unit.
The Oregon Health Licensing Agency’s Board of Cosmetology administers written, multiple-choice examinations. The examination is divided into five separate sections: Safety/Sanitation, Barbering, Hair Design, Esthetics and Nail Technology. The State Board Exam does not include a practical, clinical demonstration, however the Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission requires that the school administer a final written and practical exam prior to certifying the student’s eligibility to take the State Exam
Please note: Students are responsible for paying State Board Exam fees.
In the event that a student does not pass the State Board Exam on his or her initial attempt, below are the State requirements for re-taking the exam.
